>> Karl Lagerfeld has never been one to hold verbal punches, and his recent conversation with W — in which he tells us how he really feels about Christophe Decarnin, explains why he doesn't use computers, and vouches for which designers he would like to see at Dior — is no exception.
A few highlights, below.
On whether he'll ever cut his hair: "No, because I’m afraid it won’t grow again. And I’m not very gifted for hairdos. This is the quickest thing in the world. It takes less than five seconds. I have someone who comes to the house and washes it, puts in the dry shampoo, and takes care of it because I have no time. I don’t even have time to go to the dentist. I’m busy but in a pleasant way. I’m the one who wanted to do all of it, so I can’t complain."
On who he wants to see take over at Dior: "Well I’m not a consultant there, but I think Riccardo Tisci would be good, and then Haider Ackermann at Givenchy — not because they are friends of mine, but because they are good."
And if he still wants Haider Ackermann to take over at Chanel: "Not especially. It’s not his world I don’t think."
His thoughts on Christophe Decarnin leaving Balmain: "Forget about it! This was a job done by a fashion editor. I don’t even know the name of the man who did it, so don’t ask me about that."
On why he doesn't use a computer and instead communicates by fax: "It’s very easy to explain: For me, sketching and writing are the same thing. I like to write. It’s a physical thing — I hate to be without paper and pencil in hand. And I write like a talk. I can put my way of talking on the paper exactly the same way. The machines they tried to make where you write directly on computers are not perfect. The minute they’re perfect, I will use them."
The one thing he doesn't like women to wear: "I’m not mad for thongs."

CHRISTOPHE DECARNIN LEAVING BALMAIN :(
NO.........
CHRISTOPHE DECARNIN is leaving Balmain after spending five years as creative director. A successor has not yet been appointed.
"Since 1945, the house of Pierre Balmain has been one of the leading French and international luxury brands," Balmain ceo Alain Hivelin said today. "Christophe Decarnin's work with the house's design team contributed to the success that the brand has enjoyed in recent years."
Following Decarnin's absence at the autumn/winter 2011-12 Balmain show in March, we spoke to a label insider who rubbished rumours the designer was leaving. According to a spokesperson for the brand, Decarnin was signed off under doctor's orders
Decarnin joined the French fashion house in 2005 as a designer before being made the creative director in November 2007. He is largely credited for introducing the rock and military-inspired look - characterised for the past few seasons by slim silhouettes in leather and sequins - that the label is currently known for.
While any of the rumour mill's suggested Dior successors, from Riccardo Tisci to Alber Elbaz to Stefano Pilati, would be suitable candidates for the Balmain job - so far industry insiders suggest the fashion house will appoint an internal employee as its new creative director. So it's like Sarah Burton to Alexander McQueen.
Rumours say that it is Olivier Rousteing that will be helmed creative director of Balmain. Goodluck! :)

Christian Louboutin Speaks on Why He's Suing Yves Saint Laurent
>> It came to light that Christian Louboutin is suing Yves Saint Laurent over a pair of red suede shoes with matching red soles from the latter's Spring 2011 collection (which also happens to include purple shoes with purple soles, navy shoes with navy soles and green shoes with green soles). According to the papers Louboutin's legal team filed in New York, "The defendant's use of red footwear outsoles that are virtually identical to plaintiff's Red Sole Mark is likely to cause and is causing confusion, mistake and deception among the relevant purchasing public as to the origin of the infringing footwear."
Now, Louboutin himself has addressed the matter: "I have the biggest respect for the house of Yves Saint Laurent. Having discussed the matter with them and not been able to reach an agreement, we have had to take this to court. My company has a trademark on the red sole and if we don't enforce it this would leave the door open for other brands to copy us while jeopardising the identity of the Louboutin red sole. No one before me has ever used a coloured sole to define a brand's identity. The red sole has become widely recognised as the distinct sign of my brand in the eyes of women all over the world."

Karl Lagerfeld's Freshly BOOKED scent
Karl Lagerfeld is said to be working on fragrance with his publisher Steidl and it's going smell like a book.
The eau de Barnes & Noble has been dubbed Paper Passion and will be packaged inside a hard-cover book of the same name.
Okay I don't know who will buy this but it's quite unique. I wonder what would've happened if it was done under the Chanel brand? :)

KANYE IN CELINE WOMENSWEAR FOR COACHELLA
I think he chose this for 2 reasons 1) to think it's fashionable 2) it's the only one that fits him. Designers don't really like Kanye West (shocker!) so he rarely has custom made designer pieces (Although Decarnin of Balmain will design his tour outfits, why not go for Balmain womenswear? They're GORGEOUS! ) So he's/she's wearing Celine Spring 2011 dress (YES DRESS!) , Balmain jeans, and Lanvin sneakers.

Natasha Poly Weds Businessman Peter Bakker
2011 is feeling like the year of the wedding, and model weddings are no exception — between Kate Moss and Jamie Hince's impending nuptials in July, Anja Rubik and Sasha Knezevic's upcoming Summer wedding, and Natasha Poly's ceremony this past weekend.
The 25-year-old Poly married businessman Peter Bakker at Saint Tropez's Hotel Byblos as part of a three-day celebration, wearing a traditional white Givenchy gown. About 200 guests attended, including Carine Roitfeld and Peter Dundas, and Leona Lewis sang at the reception.
Doesn't she look like Diana Agron here? And by God, WHAT A HOT WEDDING GOWN! GIVENCHY, nice! Gaultier and Tisci makes the best wedding gowns, sorry Vera and Georgina Chapman of Marchesa. :) John Galliano makes great wedding dresses too, he will design Kate Moss's wedding gown.

VOGUE UK MAY 2011 WILL SURELY BE A HIT ANNA WINTOUR
Anna has this mentality that only celebrity cover sells! She didn't even looked at the fact that the best selling Vogue UK issue last year was the August 2010 issue with Freja Beha Erichsen, a model, on the cover. See? You don't need celebrities. Vogue UK even stressed that with the May Issue. It's a royal wedding issue and has 3 different covers, ALL TOP MODELS!
I honestly couldn't believe Freja was chosen. She's not known for that but maybe Mario Testino was convinced when he saw Freja's Harry Winston campaign ad with Freja smiling and showing she's a beautiful girl.
Definitely gonna grab a copy. I'm leaning towards Freja as the covergirl. She will easily fool anyone with that picture. PS. She's a lesbian okay? And she's proud of it! :) Good for her!
SHE'S THE MODEL OF MODELS! Getting Chanel campaign ads like candy on a candy store!

JOHN GALLIANO OUT OF HIS OWN LABEL!
Valentino Garavani is out of Valentino, Calvin Klein is out of Calvin Klein, Yves Saint Laurent was out of Yves Saint Laurent, Thierry Mugler is out of Thierry Mugler. Their similarities: THIS IS BY CHOICE! They felt the need to step out of their own labels to further enhance market reach by getting young designers as creative heads for their own labels.
But with John Galliano, it's different. HE WAS FIRED FROM HIS OWN LABEL. OUCH!
I mean that really hurt! I just felt it's ok to fire him in Dior but from his own label, come on! Give the man a break. I know he did a bad thing but he's human. Humans make mistakes. We still have no idea of why he was fired (but we can guess can't we?) I'm just so sad for him. He might make his own label again and start from scratch. I think he can't use his name anymore (it's owned by LVMH) maybe go for other names like Jeanne Galliano! :)) Just kidding!
As for the future of the label, the in-house design team is said to be in charge of producing collections now.
I love his designs and it's unfortunate for him to go out of rehab and be in hell by being unemployed. :(
Maybe you could design costumes for artists. I hear Madonna's coming for a new album and that means new tour. But I have a feeling Francesco Scognamiglio is being considered too. :)
Good luck John! :)

Also GaGa is the cover girl for Harper's Bazaar May Issue (just in time for the Born This Way album release) and hits newsstands April 26th. So, I'll be buying three fashion magazines now. Elle US, Harper's Bazaar US, and Vogue UK.

This will give them sales boost
Robert Pattinson revealed that he likes his women dressed in either Chanel or Proenza Schouler.
Here are your checklist ladies! Make sure to buy them at heart!
1. Chanel coat - investment piece and never goes out of style
2. Chanel No.5 or Chanel chance- Make him smell you! :)
3. Chanel sunnies - if you want R-Patz to notice you, buy sunnies with the large double C's on the temple.
4. Chanel dress - to meet him in parties
5. Chanel tweed jacket and skirt - you can mix and match it with your favorite (non-Chanel) outfits!
6. Chanel earring - a small piece of jewelry never hurts.
Proenza Schouler's Spring 2011 collection are dominated by tweeds so they are all Chanel-like. SO wait for the pre-fall collection. :)

GWEN AND GIVENCHY!
WOOT! LOVE GIVENCHY!
Elle chose Gwen Stefani to be on the cover of their Music Issue this coming May. She wore gorgeous Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci. It's from the pre-fall collection, the best pre-fall collection EVER!
Despite the fact that I loved the dress, I wished Gwen would've promo whored and rocked a L.A.M.B. dress!
BTW. Pre-fall collections usually come out in june! Just in time as this is the May Issue! :)

OH STELLA!
It's another smae old formula for Stella McCartney. 95% boring, 5% interesting.
Seriously? What's up with those dresses and jumpsuits that don't look tailored? For more than half the collection? I loved the last part, the suit Sasha Pivovarova wore, the peek-a-boo dresses worn by Karmen Pedaru, Natasha Poly and Anja Rubik, the gold exaggerated shoulder top didn't work for me. I know where you're going but the execution was fail! But I did love the gold jacket. There was also that oversized suit that didn't look good at all. I mean, if you want oversized suits ladies, go for Margiela!
All in all, 2.5/10 is my rating! Til next time Stella, although you make great sunglasses! Maybe you can fall back on that! :))

HOTEL VUITTON!
I'm definitely feeling the Fall 2011 collection of Louis Vuitton! In love with the collection. Louis Vuitton showed on the last day of Fashion Week along with Miu Miu and Elie Saab. The theme was a "hotel" As seen by the stage setting, 4 elevators carried the models one by one and opened by 4 "bellboys" with models dressing like "bellgirls" and people you see in a hotel. Housekeepers, rich guests, and even hookers. These were made 40's style meeting the current through Marc Jacob's intelligence. And like his collection in NY fashion week, latex and leather were seen combined with the "girly" tops and dresses as seen in the resort 2011 collection. Also, rain boots were in order and with a twist, 6 inch heels! Yes, all the heels were high and on the side unlike spring which the heel was almost at the middle of the shoe. Some of the models were having a hard time evidenced by Magdalena Frackowiak almost falling and Natasha Poly walking slowly but surely.
I'm pretty sure you all remembered there were supes in the runway, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.
I can see the collection being worn on parties and galas and not on the streets though. Well, if you're brave enough why not?
I love the collection! :) Well done Marc Jacobs!

BALMAIN'S CHRISTOPHE DECARNIN IN MENTAL HOSPITAL?
Balmain designer Christophe Decarnin’s failure to appear at his own fashion show on Thursday has sparked rumors that he's checked into a mental hospital, following a drug-fueled breakdown. Isabel Wilkinson reports.
John Galliano’s scandalous ousting at Dior was just the beginning. Paris Fashion Week took another dramatic turn on Thursday morning at the Balmain show, when the line’s designer, Christophe Decarnin, failed to take a bow for his collection.
The glaring absence has sparked rumors in the fashion community. Shocked members of the audience speculated it was the result of a breakdown fueled by drugs. Immediately after the show, Hint Magazine reported that the designer has been in a mental hospital since January. The president of the fashion company told reporters that Decarnin was not there because he was tired after working on the collection until 5 a.m. But as a Balmain spokesperson told The Daily Beast, the designer “is not feeling well” and “by doctor’s orders needs rest, and that is the only reason he was not present at the show.”
After the last model walked off the runway at Balmain’s Fall/Winter 2011 show on Thursday morning, the audience waited expectantly for Decarnin to appear for his final bow. But instead, a security guard stepped onstage, and the lights went up in the house. Gasps spread through the crowd, and a scrum of reporters descended on Balmain’s owner, M. Alain Hivelin. “He’s tired after working on the collection,” Hivelin insisted. The Telegraph’s Hilary Alexander – who was in the crowd of journalists – misheard. Tired? Or retired? "No, he's not retired. He's just tired. He didn't go to bed until 5 a.m. He's not here, he's resting," Hivelin told her. But a Balmain spokesperson contradicted Hivelin, telling The Daily Beast that Decarnin hadn’t, in fact, been working on the collection until 5 a.m.: “What he meant is that he was exhausted,” the spokesperson said. “He has been exhausted because this season was particularly demanding and complicated. “
The spokesperson says that the rumors about a breakdown from drugs and the mental hospital are “completely untrue.” The spokesperson wouldn’t say the cause of his ailment, only that it was “not anything physical.”
After the show, Hint Magazine reported via an anonymous source that Balmain told employees back in mid-January that the designer would not be returning. According to the magazine’s blog, Melanie Ward, the house’s stylist, had completed the collection herself. (Ward, who was seated in the audience, fielded questions about the collection from reporters after the show.)
But again, the spokesperson denies that the collection was completed without Decarnin. “This collection was done under his directives,” the spokesperson said. “But in the last weeks, he hasn’t been involved 100 percent—or as much as he would like.” The spokesperson says only that this season was executed by the house’s “loyal” design team – and that it is this design team that will continue to work until Decarnin has recovered and resumed work at an unknown time.
Decarnin, 46, has been at Balmain since 2005, where he has become known for a rock 'n’roll aesthetic: skin-tight dresses, chainmail—and extraordinarily high prices. According to Ward, this season was inspired by “workwear.”
