So I was browsing on my "Home" on Facebook and saw quite a few friends read an article about "Birth Rape." I was also curious and so I read it. I was really horrified by what the women in the articles I've read experienced and I thought I might share one with you my dear readers. This article is not mine and not intended for copyright infringement. Let's just be aware that there is such a thing as birth rape and it needs to be stopped.

Birth Rape and Ignored Refusal?

3549849947 07cc252c31 300x225 Birth Rape and Ignored Refusal? Before I start writing this post out, I want to take a moment to warn my readers about a story that contains graphic birth trauma. This could be a trigger for those of you who have had trauma, or bad experiences. I encourage you to read with caution.
Yesterday afternoon I caught a tweet about Birth Rape from one of the women I follow on twitter. Emily had a c-section a little over a year ago, and as time went on was not happy with her experience. While her blog is mainly about her son who is super cute, she posts some birth stuff, like the birth rape post.
We have all seen some serious doozies when it comes to birth stories on websites like Baby Center, or The Bump, but after reading this one myself, I literally cried for the mother, and wondered to myself, how is this happening in the United States?
The actions of the hospital in this case were illegal, and it often makes me wonder what kind of ego a provider has to have to batter a woman in this nature. The mother, Dawn, had wanted a VBAC, and had changed providers several times during her pregnancy to ensure she would have the most VBAC friendly provider and greatest option of having a Vaginal Birth after a Cesarean section which people take fore-granted in many parts of the country, because for some women, they are simply not that easy to get at all.
When I read the title of the post “VBAC Denied, Horrid Experience” I knew I needed to read this in more than one sitting.
Dawn arrived at the hospital on January 30th, in active labor and dilated to 4cm. Within a short time of her arrival, her water broke on its own, and she was then dilated to 6cm. Beautiful progress for a mother, especially with a previous c-section. Something most VBAC mothers hope for.
She shares in her own words:
Since I was laboring on a birthing ball, the midwife wasn’t confident about the fetal heartrate monitor, it was showing decels, so I was asked to consent to an internal monitor (screws into the baby’s scalp during labor).  I refused the first time I was asked, then consented the second time they asked. I consented because I thought my husband was beginning to panic and hoped that it would ease his stress.  When I consented to it, I looked at my husband & said “That is medical intervention #1″.
Clearly she was informed about her birth, and really knew and understood what she wanted. She was not blindly going into the hospital, she had done her research and really knew what she wanted, and what would possibly set her back. Something all VBAC mothers should be doing.
But this is where the story took a turn for the worse. Again, this is a warning for mothers before I continue!
After consenting to the monitoring, she continued to share:
Before the monitor was even plugged in, we were told that we were going to be moved to the OR “just in case” while being monitored more closely.  The midwife had called an OB to consult & we expected to meet him in the OR.
On the way to the OR, my husband was sent to a dressing area to change into scrubs & I was sent straight into the OR.  My husband & I were seperated.
Another warning sign, but sadly many women don’t have any other options. It sounded like the mother was being prep’ed for a c-section but was not being told that. The only time a husband or partner is changed into scrubs tends to be for a c-section.
And then the worse imaginable form of mistrust I have read in a while happened…
As soon as I reached the OR, the staff began prepping me for surgery.  I stated that I did NOT want a c-section.  I demanded to see my husband and stated that IF I was to receive a c-section my DH & I would make that decision together.  I was told that my husband was on his way.  I was also told that my baby needed more oxygen & I was told to breathe deeply in a new mask because it had a better seal on my face (the oxygen I was breathing before was thru a smaller mask).  The new mask wasn’t oxygen, I was gassed against my will.  I am unaware of what was done to me from the time I was gassed up until I awoke in recovery.  I am assuming that I only had a c-section.  Any further details have not been shared with me.
Not only was she lied to, but she was put under general anesthesia without consent.  Alone, with no support from her husband, not knowing what was going on. One minute thinking she was getting some oxygen, and then the next thing she knows she is waking up in the recovery room after major surgery she never consented to!
From a provider none the less that she didn’t know, or even have a name for!
I found out that my son had been born, and that I had been operated on, when I woke up in recovery.  No medical professional came to me and spoke to me about my surgery.  I have never been told WHY I required a c-section.  I only know the name of the delivering physician because it’s on my son’s birth certificate.  I never met him.  He never came to talk to me before or after surgery.  I also never saw the midwife again after I was wheeled into the OR.
I am not sure the details, of course we only know what the mother herself has said. But no matter how you slice this story… it is not acceptable treatment of any patient no matter what they want, including a c-section, VBAC, or what.
We have informed consent, and consent laws in this country for a reason, and this was a gross violation of patient rights on so many levels.
My heart has broken for this mother, and all she will have to go through now in the weeks, and months after the birth of her child, a time that is supposed to be happy, and is now filled with fear, hurt, and regret.
If you or someone you know has experienced some kind of birth trauma or birth rape, please give them the information for Solace for Mothers.

CAZAL is one of the best sunglasses to have ever existed in the history of eyewear! Up until now, the designs are copied not just on the high street but on high fashion as well!
The creator of Cazal is Cari Zalloni and you know now that "Cazal" came from the first syllables of his first and last name! And now, they don't manufacture it anymore so basically everything Cazal is deadstock vintage! And how lucky am I that I stumbled one. And I did not miss the opportunity to grab them before someone else would! BEHOLD CAZAL 962 which according to the internet costs 259.99 USD or 11,080.85 PHP and I bought them for 1,350 PHP! SUPER BARGAIN!

FYI. I bought them at Les Lunettes des Paris at Podium when they had their 3 day sale! It was 4,200 PHP to begin with less 70%!  WOOT! WOOT!

Les Lunettes des Paris is a branch of Ideal Vision Centre, one of the largest optical shops in the Philippines with over 70 branches nationwide! They have the big fashion brands like Chopard, Cartier, Dior, Escada, Fendi, Max Mara, Chloe, Valentino, Carrera, Giorgio Armani, Hugo Boss, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, John Galliano, Emilio Pucci, Jean Paul Gaultier, Police, and Ermenegildo Zegna all at fabulous discounts! Check them out on

Isn't it fabulous???? I am super in love with it! And super in love with vintage sunglasses that I want to start a collection! Weeeeee!!!! I have three now! Porsche 5623, this Cazal and will post the third one soon .... ;)

My ZALORA Wishlist

ZALORA is a wish come true for Filipino shoppers who love to shop while at the comfort of their home. It's online shopping at its finest. It's quite faster than I expected. My aunt ordered a pair of shoes and it was right at our doorstep, 3 hours later. Parang pizza delivery lang! Choz! Hahaha.

Anyways, even I too have a ZALORA Wishlist (Well I have an "obsessing" and "wanting" and "needing" series here in my blog where I post those stuff I want to own haha!). As you know, ZALORA has expanded its products to offer ranging from local to foreign brands and all the price range which is very cool!

So here are my ZALORA wishlist and why I gotta have 'em!
 1. 5CM 4 Pocket M65 Military Jacket - I love 5CM! All I know is that they have branch in SM MOA and they have a lot of chic menswear items. Also, military jackets are something that is trendy and classic. It means, as of now they look cool like it's in trend but you can wear them next year and still look cool. They are a keeper. Also, I love this color because I am having a hard time finding a jacket with a color like this!

 2. Hooked L/S Shirt- Ok, I have never heard of Hooked before and it's good that you try a lot of brands and see what they have to offer and I'm totally hooked for Hooked! Haha! I super love it when they update polo shirts with details like this. A different color for the pockets and for the elbow pads. And that guy isn't half bad at all don't you think? ;)
3. Hooked L/S Shirt-  See what I did there? It's another Hooked shirt.  I think you know why I gotta have this shirt. Judging by the design, it's got "Markness" written all over it! Haha! I swear I'll snatch this up na!
4. Black Leather Gucci Strap Signature Watch - I'm a sucker for menswear watches! And this Gucci ones are definitely unique and I would looooovvveee to have this in my collection! It's that edge that can make or break your outfit. Also, guys and girls, I REQUIRE EVERYONE TO HAVE A WATCH ALWAYS WORN ON THEIR WRISTS! It just shows that you value time. It can say a lot about your character. Instead of looking at your phone for the time, you should have a watch. And invest in it! This one's a may-juh investment! ;)

5.TOMS Grey Chambray (Botas) - TOMS shoes are one of the most comfortable pair of shoes one can ever own. I swear, you have to buy one! And you gotta love that feeling when you buy something and help others as TOMS is an advocate of having "No one should go barefoot" campaign. What I noticed are that booties are also a great investment for men as they are for women. Boots are now popular as corporate shoes and dress shoes. Yes, you can wear boots to work. But not this one, this one's for the casual walks you go to. ;)

SO... what are you waiting for? Proven and tested safe and effective... Shop at Zalora now!

Okay, so I saw this and I remember posting this before but apparently, Blogger, being a very user-friendly site, saved it as a draft! Hahahahaha. So, it's just a youtube video from GMA about Zeddie Little aka Ridiculously Photogenic Guy and by golly wow, he is! He evokes positive energy and he has nothing but nice things to say except when the host told us he has a girlfriend for 5 years who is with him and chose not to show herself on TV (good choice gel!) Hahahahaha!

With the sun so out and about. It's nice to just roll around in the grass and just be carefree!!!! ;)

After the Karl Lagerfeld x Diet Coke collaboration, Coca-Cola deemed it great to really go further with the high fashion designer collaboration and tapped one of the greatest couturiers if not the greatest ever, JEAN PAUL GAULTIER!
And the end result... signature Gaultier in a bottle (French stripes and cone bra!)
Photos are not mine. Taken from Google Images.
I super love it! I doubt it's gonna be available in the Philippines, though.
But... another BOMBSHEL!!!

We don't know if it's for the whole show but so what? GAULTIER x MADONNA is one of the best popstar-designer collaboration EVAH!

Gaultier has designed for her Blond Ambition Tour, Drowned World Tour and Confessions Tour so you know they've done a lot of wonders together! :)

Ta! Ta!

So, as I blogged, we went to the Heat Wave Summer Bazaar at the World Trade Center! It was super stressful to commute! A lot of jeepney rides and goodluck to my dry hair and my oily face! Hahahahaha!

The only salvation was the free entrance from Manila Shopper. Ok...
'Twas great but we were kind of disappointed that there were not a lot of stores. I mean, compared to the other bazaars I've been to and let's not count out Greenhills? :))

Anyway, there were still great selection and I'm not kidding. My sister and I were lusting on 2 bags: A 13k gold satchel worth 7k (we haggled and it was until 6k). :( And the Tory Burch fur-lined satchel worth 8k (We didn't haggle because we just could not afford it.) But... we still got some awesome finds!

I bought a sunglasses ring for Php 50. A chain sunglasses for Php 200. And Paco Rabanne 1 Million Perfume and Chanel Allure Homme Blanche Edition! Super like!

My sister, who is more focused than me, only wanted a bag she can use for school and settled with a polka dot bag which looks very cute at a haggled price (I've become an expert in haggling, by the way)

So.. here are the pics. It was hard to document when you are overwhelmed with the items for sale. If only I were rich....

DAS SHOES (above and below) Aren't they fierce? ;)

Chain sunglasses for Php 200. I couldn't resist! :)))

The behind the scenes! Hahaha!

Top -101 New York
Watch - Jeremy Scott for Swatch
Pants - Folded and Hung
Shoes- Cardams

My sister bought these shoes at Landmark Trinoma for Php 399! Bargainista!

The polka dot bag she bought! Haggled to the max! :)))

Paco Rabanne 1 Million and Chanel Allure Home Edition Blanche! Gold na gold!
I am super in love with this mullet dress. Also at Landmark Trinoma! It's sooo chic and sexy! :)
