So, if you're watching collections for 2011 on youtube (like me) you will think: RECESSION? REALLY? THEY'RE LOSING MONEY? I MEAN LOOK AT THOSE? THE SHOWS ARE EXTRAVAGANT? especially if you watch Chanel. It's amazing but yes, all of them are losing money. You see, fashion is a luxury and with recession, luxuries like travel and tourism :P is not being considered. And so is fashion, they already have clothes and there's H&M (PS. H&M, the Philippines is calling you! When will you come here?) or FOrever 21 (PS. 21 Men, when will you have clothes FOR ME TO WEAR? :)) ) so why buy Gucci, Chanel (There's no Chanel boutique in the Philippines btw) , Dolce and Gabbana, Fendi, Armani, Versace,  Prada, Marc Jacobs, Salvatore Ferragamo, Hermes, Lanvin, Balmain, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Jil Sanders,Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, etc.? You can also get knock offs from tiangges and on GREENHILLS OR ST. FRANCIS SQUARE. Well, that;s why they put on these amazing shows, so that people will be enticed to buy them and the best example was CHANEL. It was Spring 2009 that they introduced LIMITED EDITION ACCESSORIES. It sold out after weeks and are now bidding for as high as $2000 on ebay. Chanel 5018 half-tint sunglasses were my dreams. I hope I can buy at least a knock off LOL.

Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci has a different take. Well, thanks to Madonna, its sales increased but not as much. Why thank Madonna? Her costumes for her Sticky and Sweet Tour were from Givenchy. The best constumes of hers to date! :D And now, what is he doing? He did not do the normal show. He had a presentation (ala Alexander Mcqueen post death collection). They were just 10 outfits but all were labor of love as it took 1,600 hours to make the 10-piece collection. Totally to die for! And the outfits did not disappoint. I was certainly in love with it. Love love love! If you want to take a look. here's the link.

View and fall in love with he collection. :)
